HOW IT ALL BEGAN...

Our journey as an investment holding company began in 2005, with Dragon-i restaurants being the first brand we invested in. When we first decided to start this company, we chose to establish the base of our operations in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. From there, we diversified into other investments that are aligned with our overall investment objectives.

MILESTONES

We started the first Dragon-i restaurant in Mid Valley Shopping Mall in 2004. As of December 2022, we have 35 restaurants, of which 28 of them are Chinese and 7 Japanese. The Chinese cuisine is divided into 4 distinctive brands, namely Dragon-i, Canton-i, Ho Min San and Ren. The Japanese cuisine is under the brand Yayoi. Among them, Ren and Yayoi provide pork-free offerings.

We invested in the personal care business in 2017. Currently, we are cultivating four brands including Bad Lab, Good Virtues Co., Summerie and Machine.

We acquired Advance Tertiary College (ATC) in 2019, and have moved the Petaling Street campus to a new campus in the city center at Wisma HB, Megan Avenue 2. Our second new campus, ATC Penang, is situated along Jalan Halaman Melaka, Penang.

We became a significant shareholder in the SGX-listed Sim Leisure Group Ltd (“SLG”) in 2020. SLG operates numerous fun parks under the brand Escape. Other than its main park in Penang, Escape has a park in Paradigm Mall. Subsequent to our investment, SLG has further acquired Kidzania in 2021. SLG continues to expand its footprints in Malaysia and regionally through Escape.

We became one of the largest shareholders in Kale Technology, a financial technology company that powers a consumer credit platform in Malaysia in 2020.

We partnered Personedge, a digital marketing firm, as a 45% shareholder in 2020.
